A Bit About Me
I have worked in the education sector for over 20 years. Having begun my education career working in inner-city comprehensives, I moved to the special school sector in 2009. I was fortunate to rise to the position of Headteacher of a special school in 2018.

Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with incredible teams to advocate for the needs of neurodiverse young people and their families. I firmly believe that every young person can thrive and succeed given the right strategies and experiences to navigate our increasingly complex world.

In 2024, I founded Milestone Mentoring. Our mission is to equip neurodiverse young people with the strategies, experiences and qualifications to become contributing members of their communities. Our approach addresses the social, emotional, and academic needs of the young people we work with in an overarching plan delivered by our experienced and qualified staff. We are dedicated to helping all young people unlock their full potential, regardless of their past experiences.

Prior to moving into the education sector, I worked as a management consultant, supporting local authorities and registered social landlords to integrate the views of their tenants into the decision-making process.

Over the past year, Milestone Mentoring has been working closely with neurodiverse young people and their families to provide tailored mentoring that blends social, emotional, and academic support. Our team has delivered one-to-one mentoring, group sessions, and school-based interventions, equipping young people with practical strategies to build confidence, resilience, and independence.

We’ve also expanded our reach by partnering with local schools and community organisations, ensuring more young people have access to the right tools and opportunities to thrive. Alongside this, we’ve supported families and professionals through support and guidance, helping to create consistent and supportive environments both at home and in education.

A key part of our work has also focused on wellbeing through physical activity and outdoor learning. From regular exercise sessions that promote health and self-regulation, to developing our allotment project where young people grow, nurture, and harvest their own produce, these experiences have offered powerful opportunities to build confidence, responsibility, and a sense of achievement.

It has been a year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful impact — and we remain committed to helping every young person unlock their potential, regardless of their starting point.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step".
